Workshop details

The Avoidant-, Dependent- and Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder are often diagnosed in clinical settings. På grund af den større forudsigelighed af den tilknyttede adfærd og de mindre hyppige krisesituationer, disse personlighedsforstyrrelser er ofte oprindeligt betragtet som mindre problematiske. Men over de kursus af behandlingen, den særdeles stive natur af denne type personlighedsforstyrrelse udgør en reel udfordring for de terapeuter. (Arntz, 2010) Therefore, scheme therapy methods and techniques need to be adapted for these patients. De avoidante-, afhankelijke en obsessieve compulsieve patiënten hebben ook elke behoefte aan een andere therapistijl, een die respectievelijk duwt meer voor zelfuitdrukking, autonomie, spontaneity en play.

This workshop aims to provide an overview of the specific methods and techniques for these patients, showing the differences in the therapist style in treating either an avoidant, dependent or obsessive compulsive patient.

Each cluster C PD will be discussed and specific effective interventions practiced. Introductions vil blive fulgt af klare og strukturerede demonstrationer af effektive interventioner, efterfulgt af overvågede rollespil i par. At the end of the 2 day workshop participants will be able to identify and differentiate the different modes in cluster C PD's. De vil også være i stand til å bytte overgangsmoduser som for eksempel Perfectionistic Overcontroller og Compliant Surrender, bekjempe Demanding Parent modes samt Guilt Inducing / Punitive Parent Mode. De vil også være i stand til å presse klienten C patient to express anger and to stimulate the Happy Child.

Therapie relatie: beperkte reparenting en verschillen met cluster B PD's, empathische confrontatie, offer care, limiet instelling

Schema therapie technieken: cognitieve technieken, experientiële technieken Imagery rescripting, stoelwerk), thuiswerkopdrachten en gedragsverandering

Approved by

Norsk Psykologforening has approved the education in form therapy as a compulsory program for the specialty in psychotherapy. The Norwegian Psychology Association approved this course as 16 hours maintenance-active. The course will be applied for as an optional specialist and postgraduate course of the Specialization Committee in Psychiatry and the Speciality Committee in General Medicine by the Norwegian Medical Association.

About the presents

Remco van der Wijngaart works as a psychotherapist in a private practice in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Remco specializes in borderline patients, patients with cluster C personality disorders as well as anxiety and depressive disorders.


The education program is approved by the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) as a counselor for international certification in Schema Therapy. This course is mandatory to be certified.
