More about the course

Form therapy is an integrative psychotherapy model that combines elements from attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, gestalt therapy, emotion-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (Vreeswijk, Broersen & Nadort, 2012).

Joan Farrell and Ida Shaw developed group form therapy for patients with emotionally unstable personality disorder, incorporating the mode model (Farrell, Reiss & Shaw, 2014). Today, the group program is transdiagnostic and can be implemented in different treatment settings and in programs of different duration.

This course will especially address the autonomy phase of group chemistry.

It will be a combination of theory and practical exercises. We will focus on angry child mode, happy / satisfied child mode and healthy adult mode. We are looking at ways to work long-term in creating new, adaptive forms and breaking out of the so-called "life sticker".
