More about the course

Form therapy is an integrative psychotherapy model that combines elements from attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, gestalt therapy, emotion-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (Vreeswijk, Broersen & Nadort, 2012).

Joan Farrell and Ida Shaw developed group form therapy for patients with emotionally unstable personality disorder, incorporating the mode model (Farrell, Reiss & Shaw, 2014). Today, the group program is transdiagnostic and can be implemented in different treatment settings and in programs of different duration.

This course will deal with the work phase in group schema therapy. It will be a combination of theory and practical exercises. Among other things, we will take a closer look at how to handle any conflicts, carry out mode dialogues and work with critical, judgmental mode and vulnerable child mode.
